For the LOVE of the dirt!
Secured Start Line Guarantee
This one is big. We understand life can sometimes get in the way of the best-laid plans, including racing. But don’t worry – we’ve got you covered with our Secured Start Line Guarantee. In simple terms, we now offer free race transfers, deferrals, and participant transfers until the day before the event.
- Are you injured? No problem, defer to next year.
- Did you forget your daughter’s dance recital that your wife put on the schedule 8 months ago? No problem, transfer the entry to a friend.
- Does it look like it might sprinkle, and you don’t want to get your precious gravel bike dirty? Transfer the entry to another race like Rode to Hell or The Dirty Mitten.
We have always said that we are an athlete-focused company. The first thing we ask ourselves when considering a change is whether or not it will benefit you, our athletes. With that in mind, we put our money where our metaphorical mouths are. We are offering something that very few companies do, allowing you the flexibility to race on your terms without penalty. We hope to see you out there this year!
Post-Race Celebration
The post-race food will be a significant change. We have previously provided every athlete with a fantastic BBQ lunch from Smokehouse52. Unfortunately, with the rising cost of food, we cannot continue to absorb these costs while keeping registration fees down. We know you’ve come to expect great post-race food, so we have decided to split it with you. Reserve your meal for $5 at checkout, and we will handle the rest. This year will include beef brisket chili with a loaded topping buffet (bacon, cheddar cheese, Jiffy cornbread crumble, sour cream, and green onion)

About Waterloo G+G
Ride through the wilds of Lower Michigan’s largest park, where pristine forests, rolling glacial terrain, and sparkling lakes provide a breathtaking backdrop for the gravel cycling experience of a lifetime.
Given Waterloo Recreational Area’s glacial history, the bike courses will vary from rolling hill climbs and swift descents to winding curves and rare straightaways. Some roads will be paved. Others may be patched. Most will be dirt and rock. Expect to get dusty. Expect to get grimy. Expect to have the time of your life!
100K: Now one loop that winds through Waterloo’s more than 20,000 acres.
50K: Condenses the best that the 100K offers into half the distance
11-mile: a little bit of everything!
Testimonials
We don't like to brag, so we'll let our athletes do it for us!
“Waterloo is the first gravel race I ever competed in. It has everything you could want... elevation, unpredictable weather, and mixed terrain. You can ALWAYS see my smiling face at this event!”

“Well-organized event! The parking was easy, the course was well-marked, and the gravel was a fun muddy mess 😎 Everything you could hope for in a gravel race! Shout out to John M. for being an awesome race director! I’ll be back next year to beat that 2-hour mark 🔥”
